Our social housing smart phone App - Habitapp - available on iPhone and Android is gaining popularity, with 2 new housing associations signing up in December and due for launch in late January or February.

Habitapp launched in summer 2011 and is now supported by a data hub allowing dynamic links to back office systems, and updating of in-App data via a CMS facility.

These Apps allow tenants and staff to submit reports on a range of matters including repairs, and to include up to three images with each report. Other items can also be reported such as rubbish and graffiti.

Antony Dyson, Managing Director of Emerald has recently set up a new company, Emerald apps, www.emeraldapps.co.uk, dedicated to the development of mobile apps. The portfolio of apps developed by Emerald so far, including the popular Habitapp, has been transferred to Emerald apps. The focus at Emerald apps will be to develop a range of mobile apps for iPhone and Android for the social housing sector and beyond. This exciting new development allows Emerald apps to harness the experience of the web development team at Emerald to deliver a range of integrated solutions for the social housing sector.
